i29 designed the ‘Home 01′ in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Description from the architects:
One of the characteristics of this apartment in the centre of Amsterdam is the ‘core’ of clear wood. It starts on the first floor with a ‘courtyard’ i29 created in the centre of the apartment. And it continues one floor higher in a centrepiece for the living area that inhabits the fireplace, TV, audio set, books and CD’s.
Once you entered the first flight of stares after the front door you are at the centre of the house, the wooden courtyard is lighted by natural light from the roof. To the right a door leads to the back of the house to a slim bathroom connected to the master bedroom. The bathroom has a white seamless epoxy bathing/washing unit and dark grey walls and ceiling. Both the bathroom and the master bedroom are situated around an outdoor patio. A double door in the front of the courtyard leads to a study. On the second floor the open living area is located with the wooden centrepiece. In the back of this floor we placed the open kitchen and dining table.
