MATSUNAMI MITSUTOMO ARCHITECT & ASSOCIATES designed the ‘Residence in Tsuruhara’ in Osaka, Japan.
Description from the architects:
Summer
Sunlight is reflected by the loft and a ceiling is illuminated. The light reflected by the deciduous tree of the yard is directed indoors. The natural lighting in the house is that of indirect light with the heat removed.
Winter
As the inclination of the roof is that of the incidence angle of sunlight, the air inside is warmed directly by the sunlight. Light is also directed onto the road.
