taranta creations designed the ‘China CCTV-MTV Awards’ in Beijing, China.

Taranta Creations has accomplished the award trophies design for the 2010 CCTV-MTV Music Awards Ceremony in Beijing. The trophy is a three-dimensional interpretation of the logo that represents the milestone of 10 years of collaboration between CCTV and MTV in the Chinese music industry. The evolution of the trophy geometry starts with placing the round-shaped CCTV logo at the base and the square MTV logo at the top. The circle and square gradually merge together in the middle part of the trophy. The middle part of the logo is an abstract translation of the significant Chinese characters in representing the event logo into a pattern of strings. To give the award a comfortable and secure grip, it has already been snipped together in advance. By letting the fluid geometry responding to the shape of the human hand, a playful and contemporary shape has been created. The trophy stands 380 mm high. All the eighteen trophies are produced using 3D-print technology.
