PLURIESCALA designed the House in Paço de Arcos in Paço de Arcos, Lisbon, Portugal.
Description from the architects:
Located near the historic center of Paço de Arcos small town, next to the old central garden and a few meters from the sea, this old fisherman’s house saw its interior totally recovered.
The main objectives of the project were to make the best out of a small area, the option for a wooden structure as an alternative to the concrete and the future adaptability of this space to several functions.
All the interior of the two floor house was made of wood, with the kitchen on the first floor and the bathroom placed in the stairwell access to the first floor. The kitchen was equipped with long wooden, simple designed shelves, adaptable to multiple uses, allowing this space to become a working or dwelling area.
The original chimney was recovered and the two tiny rooms on the first floor were transformed into a wide open space, equipped with multiple storage areas and with a mezzanine.
